Oscars: "12 Years a Slave" crowned Best Film :
Seven Oscars won by Gravity are not enough to make this 86th Oscars triumph for the film by Alfonso Cuaron . While the Mexican filmmaker based in London won the award for Best Director. But in the other major categories in which the film was nominated -
Best Actress (Sandra Bullock ) and especially Best Picture - the Oscar
went to others.
A actress Cate Blanchett side Blue Jasmine crowned despite the accusations against her director , Woody Allen, who has quietly made tribute , and especially 12 Years a Slave , the film of the British Steve McQueen , who walks away with three Oscars ( Supporting Actress for Lupita Nyong'o , adapted screenplay for John Ridley and therefore better film).
Other Gravity Oscars were awarded for music (Steven Price) and photography ( Emmanuel Lubezki ) , editing, visual effects, sound mixing and editing.
