The story takes place in a world where Japan has not privatized its railway lines.
We follow the daily Naohito Takayama, a high school student who dreams of working for the company Japanese National Railways.
But he finds himself assigned to the section Security (Security Force Railways) trains and their passengers.
Their main mission is to fight an extremist group called RJ who want to privatize the railways of the country.
The novel Rail Wars: Nihon Kokuyu Tetsudo Koantai Takumi Toyoda began in 2012 to Sohgeisha edition and now counts eight bound volumes in Japan.
