The film centres on Ivan Locke, Hardy’s character, a site manager for a major building firm, driving through the night on the M1 between Birmingham and London and, while en route, receiving a phone call that slowly causes his entire life to unravel. The supporting cast includes - but only the voices of - Ruth Wilson (Luther), Olivia Colman and Andrew Scott (Sherlock), and is directed and written by Steven Knight (Dirty Pretty Things, Eastern Promises, Peaky Blinders).
