Guillaume Gallienne, winner of the 2014 Césars
Boys and William at the table! triumphed at the 39th ceremony of the Caesars , held Friday, Feb. 28 at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris .
The first feature film by Guillaume Gallienne earned its author trophies for Best Film , Best First Feature , Best Adapted Screenplay , Best Actor ( therefore four trophies for the same person as the member of the Comédie French had adapted his own show for the cinema) and best Editing .
Apart from these five Césars, other trophies were sprinkled among the different films nominated by the voters of the Academy of Arts and film techniques during a ceremony may be a little more overpowering than usual, despite the valiant efforts of the mistress of ceremony, Cécile de France .
Eleven films were awarded prizes in seventeen categories concerned the French feature films :
L' Extravagant Travel and prodigious young TS Spivet , Jean -Pierre Jeunet ( best photo) Michael Koolhaas , Arnaud Pallières ( best sound , best music to Martin Wheeler ) through the Spray days, Michel Gondry ( best scenery ) , Renoir, Gilles Bourdos ( best Costume ) , Strangers on a lake, Alain Guiraudie ( best Male Newcomer Peter Deladonchamps ) , Quai d'Orsay, Bertrand Tavernier ( best Supporting Actor Niels Arestrup ) and Suzanne , Katell Quillévéré ( best supporting actress Adele Haenel ) .
Roman Polanski won his fourth directorial Césars (after those received for Tess, The Pianist and The Ghost Writer) for Venus in Fur .
Finally , 9 months in prison , Albert Dupontel won in the categories scenario and actress since the Caesar went to his lead actress Kiberlain .
