Sony unveils a virtual reality helmet for PS4 .
SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Sony on Tuesday unveiled a prototype virtual
reality helmet for its PlayStation 4 console, on the occasion of the
"Game Developers Conference " in San Francisco.The equipment , called "Morpheus" and still in development, promises
an immersion experience with a helmet covering the entire field of
vision and integrated stereo headphones.The prototype presented black and white with a thin blue light strip
on the frame, the camera works with the PlayStation 4 and Motion Sensors
Move.Shuhei Yoshida claimed , head of Sony Computer Entertainment division ,
the group was " encouraged by the enthusiastic response " with similar
equipment start- ups and as Oculus VR Valve recent months."This is the culmination of more than three years of work and
represents our vision of virtual reality games ," said Shuhei Yoshida at
the conference .Among the leading groups , Sony is the first to present such an
accessory game The Japanese group was launched in August 2011 "Personal
3D glasses " but the concept is still struggling to take in reluctant
consumers.Sony said that the helmet would soon be available to the developers of video games, but did not specify a date.Some
six million PlayStation 4 were sold on March 2 , more than the target
of five million copies sold in the fiscal year ending late March. The console sold since November 29 in the United States, Western Europe and Latin America.Output almost the same time, the Xbox of his great rival Microsoft had sold 3 million copies in late 2013.
